Le Moteur
| C’est le moteur qui fourni la puissance nécessaire au déplacement de la voiture. Pour les voitures radio commandées électriques, le moteur délivre un mouvement de rotation d’une vitesse moyenne d’environ 30 000 tr/min. Cette vitesse de rotation est excessive pour entraîner directement les roues d’une voiture qui doivent tourner à environ 1000 tr/min pour une voiture roulant à 30 km/h. |

Un ensemble de roues dentées (pignons, couronnes...) que nous vous présentons ci dessous régule alors cet échange tout en vous permettant de régler le rapport de transmission.
Le Pignon moteur
| Cet élément est directement fixé sur l’axe à la sortie du moteur, son rôle est d’entraîner la couronne et à sa suite l’ensemble de la transmission. Par ailleurs, le couple pignon moteur / couronne est le moyen le plus facile de régler votre rapport de transmission. |

La couronne
| La couronne est entraînée directement par le pignon moteur et transmet ensuite le mouvement soit au slipper pour les voitures qui en sont équipées, soit directement à la suite de la transmission. |

Présent essentiellement sur les voitures tout-terrains, le slipper est un sorte d’embrayage qui permet de préserver la transmission des à -coups / blocages mais aussi de réguler le couple transmis aux roues lors des accélérations.
Le slipper est souvent constitué :
Ainsi, si le couple est trop important (roues bloquées ou accélération trop brusque), les bagues vont patiner sur les flasques et transmettre moins de puissance. |

L’Hydra-DriveA la fin des années 90, les fabricants Team Losi et Schumacher ont remplacé le slipper par un système Hydra-Drive, sorte d’embrayage hydraulique.L’Hydra-Drive était constitué d’un boîtier fixé à la couronne rempli d’huile dans lequel se trouvait une hélice. La couronne entraînait le boîtier et l’hélice interne qui était alors freinée dans sa rotation par l’huile ambiante. L’hydra-drive était très efficace, mais la fiabilité n’était malheureusement pas au RDV. | |
