Mamba Max : le match Trinity - N80 VS Castle Creation – CM 36
Le duel brushless CM36 VS N80
Pour notre essai comparatif, nos deux moteurs brushless seront associés au variateur Mamba Max en 4x2 sur un RC10 B4 FT et en 4x4 sur un Predator XRS et ils se seront déroulés sur la piste Indoor en moquette du MRCI.
Rencontre entre le Trinity N80 et le Castle Creation CM36.
Le variateur Mamba Max
En 2wd, avec le RC10 B4 FT, le Mamba Max ne chauffe pas, ce qui est déjà un bon gage, sachant que les concurrents à capteurs se voient bien souvent affublé d’un ventilateur.En 4wd, sur le Predator XRS, il convient de faire une ventilation forcée sur le Mamba Max avec des feuilles de Lexan ou de lui mettre un ventilateur.
Notez tout de même que les conditions en salle sollicitent toujours plus les ensembles que les conditions en extérieur.
Le moteur CM36
Le brushless CM36 (livré dans l’ensemble Mamba Max) se comporte un peu bizarrement, son couple un peu trop faible fait que les voitures se font déposer en entrée de ligne droite par les moteurs à charbon.Arrivé à a mi-ligne droite, on rentre dans la plage de puissance du CM36 et un véritable effet turbo s’enclenche, impressionnant mais pas forcément exploitable, surtout dans les relances relativement courtes où il arrive que l’effet turbo s’enclenche juste avant de devoir toucher les freins (je sais, c’est pour les lâches mais il faut bien un peu quand même), on retrouve alors son auto à l’extérieur du virage, voir dans le balisage.
Le moteur chauffe beaucoup sur les 4x4, si vos runs d’entraînement dépassent les 10 minutes le ventirad moteur est obligatoire.
Sur des runs de 5 minutes un refroidissement reste conseillé sur les 4x4, même si la température est plus tolérable et qu’un simple dissipateur peut faire l’affaire.
Le moteur N80
Le brushless N80, comme on l’avait pressenti avec son fort champ magnétique développe beaucoup plus de couple que le CM36.Sur un 4x2 ça en devient limite exploitable, préparez-vous au wheelie, à moins que vous ayez soigneusement réglé votre slipper.
L’effet turbo que l’on rencontre avec le CM36 est presque totalement amorti car, le couple aidant, la puissance est tout de suite disponible. Le moteur N80 est donc bien plus linéaire et bien plus exploitable si vous réglez bien votre châssis pour une telle puissance car au lieu d’avoir un effet turbo haut dans les tours comme le CM36 on a cet effet dans les 2 mètres suivant l’accélération et il est plus progressif, on a ainsi le temps et la possibilité de géré ça.
Le moteur chauffe un peu moins que le CM36 mais sur des runs d’entraînements de plus de 5 minutes, il peut chauffer fort.
Sur des manches de 5 minutes, le moteur est juste tiède sur les 4x2 et un simple dissipateur suffira en 4x4 (à condition que le moteur soit bien ventilé).
En vitesse de pointe le N80 semble avoir un peu plus d’allonge que le CM36.
Pour résumer, le Trinity N80 est plus puissant, plus linéaire et un peu plus véloce que le CM36.
Toutefois les données constructeurs mentent quand au fait que le N80 est un équivalent 3 tours, il est selon moi plus proche des 4.5t - 5t, ce qui reste très largement suffisant pour les châssis Tout Terrain.
Du reste ce moteur est trop puissant pour les 4x2, prévoyez une limitation (bouton punch control du logiciel Castle Link à 20 ou 30%).
Les rapports conseillés sont :
4x2 : 13.2 à 12.4
4x4 : 14.5 à 13.4
Truck : 15.5 à 14.5
N’oubliez pas que le rapport dépend du circuit, mais si votre moteur prend trop de tour (rapport trop court) il va chauffer, tandis que s’il force trop (rapport trop long) il chauffera aussi.
Remarque
Il vous faudra trouver le bon rapport, et contrairement aux moteurs à charbons, le bon rapport n’est pas nécessairement celui qui met le moteur à plein régime en bout de ligne droite, il peut arriver de ne jamais atteindre le régime max.C’est aussi pour cela que les rapports conseillés peuvent paraître longs eu égard de la puissance, en fait, il n’en est rien.
Pour info la première fois que j’ai tourné avec le N80 sur le 4x4 j’avais l’impression de ne pas avoir de puissance, en fait je tirais tout simplement trop court, sur la piste indoor du MRCI je n’atteins jamais le régime maximum du moteur.
